John Bollinger was born in 1950 in France, is later together with a family having emigrated to New York. In the childhood John showed interest to the art of photography and cinematography, proceeding from it, parents decided to send the boy to school of visual arts in New York, there it mastered a profession of the operator all over the world. In 1976 John successfully realized the career, having moved to the Western Hollywood.
For many years John Bollinger was the chief analyst of the national cable TV channel Financial News Network (FNN) devoted to financial news. Now he still makes weekly analytical comments after CNBC TV channel, the successor of FNN, and also for many years was the chief market analyst in Financial News Network.
John Bollinger created the approach called by Rational Analysis which represents a combination of the technical analysis and the fundamental analysis in the relative environment. The key tool of the rational analysis — the Bollinger Strips indicator (This indicator you can combine with signals the Price Action). They unite in themselves properties of such indicators, as the moment, the volume, open interest, a standard deviation and others.
Lines of the indicator are under construction as a strip along a curve sliding average. Width of a strip is proportional to a mean square deviation of value of the price from the set order sliding to average for the studied period of time.
The main objective of use of indicators – to filter signals "circulations on edge". Often, when other indicator shows trend change, the price really follows to average or opposite lines.
John Bollinger claims that his tool created by it doesn't inform the trader on the exact timepoint favorable for a purchase or sale of currency, proceeding from that that price indicators will come nearer to boundary values of strips of Bollinger. However, with its help it is possible to set borders within which behavior of price indicators most adequately give in to additional researches. As suitable indicators for the additional analysis of Bollinger advises such indicators as RSI, MACD, Money Flow and the indicator of balance of volume.
John wrote the book "Bollinger about Bollinger Strips" where he instructs the reader and in detail stops on use of the indicator created by it in quality, as independent trade system, and on its interaction with other market tools. Today John Bollinger heads Bollinger Capital Management investment company, on management of the investments, providing the services based on the technical analysis in management of the capital to individuals, corporations, trusts and pension funds.
